The brand story of ANOTHER LAND, a skincare brand from Taiwan
~Masutani May: Building Glass Worlds~.
Former graphic designer and illustrator. While working in a design studio in Singapore, she developed an interest in three-dimensional forms, sculpture and space, admiring the work of Japanese sculptors and craftsmen and constantly checking out Japanese galleries. Gradually, his interest in the quiet elegance of glass led him to embark on a new life journey. 'There is something honest and moving about transparent glass,' she says. She then went on to learn more about glass and the Japanese language: in 2017, she quit her job and moved to Japan, where she completed a two-year qualification programme at the prestigious Toyama Institute of Glass Art, which accepts only 16 students a year.
She now works from her glass studio in Toyama, where she also won the TOKYO MIDTOWN AWARD 2023 art competition.

元グラフィックデザイナーでイラストレーター。シンガポールのデザインスタジオで働きながら、立体的なフォルム・彫刻・空間への興味を持ち、日本の彫刻家や職人の作品に憧れ、日本のギャラリーを常にチェックしていた。次第にガラスの静かなエレガンスに興味を持ち始め、新たな人生の旅に出ることになった。「透明なガラスには、素直で感動的な何かがある」と彼女は言う。その後、彼女はガラスと日本語についてより深く学ぶことになる。2017年、彼女は仕事を辞めて日本に移住した後、年間16人しか生徒を受け入れていない名門の富山ガラス造形研究所で2年間の資格取得プログラムを修了した。
現在、彼女は富山にガラス工房を構えて活動。TOKYO MIDTOWN AWARD 2023 アートコンペも受賞。
